If your firm runs on it, I can build it, connect it or move it.

One developer for the whole system: the case management core, the client-facing pieces, the AI, the payments, the integrations and the migration off whatever you use now. No hand-offs between agencies, and you always talk to the person writing the code. Most firms are up and running on a first version within 30 days.

Custom case management systems

The core of the system: every matter, where it stands and what's due next, organized the way your firm already thinks about its work.

  • Matters with your own stages, shown as a list or a board
  • Tasks, notes, contacts and a complete history on each matter
  • Deadlines calculated from the dates you enter, using rules your firm configures, with weekend and court-holiday handling and calendar export
  • Conflict checks across every person in the system
  • A "Today" dashboard: overdue items, upcoming deadlines, new intakes and alerts
  • Roles and sign-ins for attorneys, paralegals and staff

Client intake and client portals

The client-facing side, built for phones first because that's where clients are.

  • Intake forms with one question per screen, branching logic, repeating sections and autosave
  • Follow-up walkthroughs, such as financial information and document requests, that start from what the client already entered
  • Secure document upload, with each file tied to the item it was requested for
  • A private portal: case stage in plain words, to-do lists, messages and shared documents
  • Invite links, password rules, lockouts and a quick-exit button for clients who need one

Document automation

Your templates, pleadings, letters and court forms, filled from one set of answers instead of retyped for every matter.

  • Editable Word output that looks exactly like your current documents
  • On-screen preview before saving, with blank fields highlighted
  • Every version kept, with consistent file names, and copies on your network drive if you want them
  • Calculations built in, such as worksheets and totals, so the numbers match everywhere they appear
  • Documents created automatically when a matter reaches a stage, once a person has confirmed the inputs

The software fills in documents from information the firm provides. Attorneys review every document before it is used. Habeas Code doesn't decide what a document should say.

Claude AI integration

Claude, from Anthropic, built directly into your system for document review, summaries, cited answers and plain-English automations. This gets its own page: Claude AI for law firms.

Payments and billing

  • Time entry and expense tracking by timekeeper, with your rates
  • Invoices generated from the matter, sent by e-mail or shared in the client portal
  • Online card and ACH payments through the processor you choose, such as Stripe or a legal-specific processor
  • Separate ledgers for different kinds of funds, with reports your bookkeeper can reconcile
  • Sync to QuickBooks or your accounting system

Systems integration

Your new system should work with the tools you already pay for, not replace all of them.

  • Outlook, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace: calendars, e-mail and single sign-on
  • Active Directory and Windows sign-in for firms with their own servers
  • E-signature (such as DocuSign), SMS text reminders and outgoing e-mail
  • Accounting, payment processors and document storage
  • Any other system with an API, a database, or a file export to read from

Data extraction and migration

Switching systems is usually what stops firms from switching. I handle it end to end.

  • Exports from existing case management products, spreadsheets and Access or SQL Server databases
  • Extraction from document archives, including text and figures pulled from PDFs
  • Cleaning and de-duplicating contacts and matters, then mapping them to the new structure
  • Test loads you can check, with record counts compared before and after
  • A planned cutover so nobody loses a day of work

Reporting and dashboards

  • Caseload by stage, deadlines, intake volume and staff workload
  • Billing reports: unbilled time, aging and collections
  • Built into the system, or fed to Power BI or Tableau

Law firm websites

Not every project is a full system. I also design and build regular websites for firms: fast, mobile-first and built so search engines can understand them. This site is an example, hand-built with no page builder or theme. See websites I've built.

  • Custom design that fits your firm, not a recycled template
  • Fast static pages that score well on Google's speed and mobile checks
  • Technical SEO built in: titles and descriptions, structured data, sitemaps, social sharing images and clean URLs
  • Practice area, attorney bio, article and contact pages that your staff can update
  • Contact and intake forms that feed straight into your case management system, if you have one
  • Domain, hosting, SSL and analytics set up and handed over in accounts your firm owns

I build and maintain the website. Your firm writes or approves everything it says, including any attorney advertising content.

Hosting, security and support

  • Cloud hosting, or on your own servers if you prefer
  • Password protection, sign-in limits, private links and least-access client views
  • Managed database, backups and automated, tested deployments
  • Training for staff and ongoing improvements as your practice changes

See it working before you commit

Most of these pieces already exist in a working platform. Let me show you what your version would look like.
